To say Melissa is a fan of everything “Disney” may be an understatement. In fact, Melissa incorporated a bit of her love for Mickey Mouse throughout her union to Michael in August of 2016.
Virtually every detail had a magical “Mickey” touch, from the wedding colors (red, white and black) to the decor and wedding cake topper!
The women of the bridal party, including Melissa’s precious flower girl, Adele, spent the morning preparing for the day ahead. After their hair and makeup was complete, the radiant bride and bridesmaids enjoyed a touch of champagne to shake off those pre-wedding jitters. The men did more or less the same, except they made sure to each have their own hockey-inspired tie clip. It was the perfect accessory!
The traditional ceremony occurred at the St. Casimir Church in Yonkers, New York, the same church Melissa’s parents married at in 1982! The place was beyond beautiful and the ceremony was perfect from start to finish, beginning with Melissa’s mom escorting her down the aisle and ending with Melissa and Michael’s first kiss as husband and wife.
After some fun and frivolity (as well as some awesome photo opportunities) in front of St. Casimir, their friends and family then made their way to Seasons, an event space in Washington Township, New York. There, they ate, drank, and danced the night away!
One of the most memorable moments of the reception was when Melissa and Michael sweetly shared the first taste of their towering 4-layer black ribbon-wrapped cake. The speeches and toasts given by the Maid of Honor and Best Man were also heartfelt and personal. There were so many smiles and hugs all around. With so many emotions, it was pretty hard to hold back a few “happy” tears!
As the evening wrapped us, we took a few extra snaps of this genuinely wonderful couple and photoshopped them into Cinderella’s castle. After all, Princess Melissa got to marry her Prince Charming. It was any Disney-lover’s dream come true!
What a memorable wedding! Thank you for sharing your day with us, Melissa and Michael.
